This year’s fete coincides with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend, but we’re going ahead as usual and with a jubilee theme. So expect the usual mix of fun and games, the dog show and of course the legendary teat tent and cake stall, and come along and celebrate this special occasion in true community fashion!

Volunteers are needed every year, both on and before the fête day, so if you think that you can help this year please contact Emma Heald (01260 227224).

Wincle Trout Run 2012

The Wincle Trout Run is a demanding 9km fell run in the picturesque Dane Valley, crossing woodlands, river (weather and water levels permitting) and high moorland (1,000ft of climb) , with a 3km Junior Race.

Another successful race last year, fully booked well in advance – so do get your form in early to avoid disappointment. The Junior race was also very well attended, with 41 runners, and you will save £1 if you book in advance.

You can download this year's Entry Form in PDF format here. Print out, complete all sections and post to Alan Weekswith a cheque payable to ‘Wincle Church’ to: Alan Weeks, Danebank House, Wincle, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 0QE.

Senior Race
Minimum age 16 (as of 1 January). A fresh Dane Valley trout for every senior finisher – run for your supper! Small prize and perpetual trophy for all category winners, first local and first team. Race limit 350 – pre-entry is strongly recommended as the race has been full for the last five years.

Junior Race
Official FRA race for 10-15 year olds (age as of 1 January). Approx 3km with river crossing if possible. Winners’ trophies (first boy and girl) and medal for every runner. Race limit 60. Mini races for under 10s (info on the day).

Team Trophy
Enter your club – or other team – for the team trophy. First 4 finishers to count. No extra charge to enter a team.

Entry Fees
Seniors:
Pre-entry £7.50 (includes entrance to village fête); entry on the day £9.50 (£8.50 for the race, and £1 to get into the fête). No additional charge for teams.

Juniors:
Pre-entry £3; entry on the day £4. Over 11s pay £1 to enter the fete if not pre-entered.

IMPORTANT: Do turn up well before the start of the race, allowing plenty of time for possible congestion on the roads into Wincle.
